A new regulation issued by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah extends the validity of Umrah visas to three months from the date of issuance.
This change, implemented in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aims to streamline preparations for the annual Hajj season.
Earlier, the validity period commenced upon the visa holder’s entry into Saudi Arabia, but now it starts from the date of issuance.
The Ministry’s decision responds to inquiries on the “X” platform, with the objective of enhancing the management of pilgrim influx and activities leading up to and during the Hajj season.
In a recent advisory, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah clarified that Umrah visas are strictly for pilgrimage purposes and should not be utilized for employment or other non-pilgrimage activities. Emphasizing adherence to visa regulations, particularly in light of recent instances of misuse, they underscored the importance of compliance.
Pilgrims are urged to depart Saudi Arabia before the expiration of their visas and to observe the conditions of their stay diligently.
