Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen are divorcing after 14 years of marriage.
The actors shared a joint statement on their respective Instagram Stories, revealing that they filed for divorce last year. “After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” the statement reads.
“In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy,” the statement added. The couple married in 2010 after eight years of dating and have three children together.
Baron Cohen previously told The New York Times that he “knew instantly” that Fisher was the one after meeting her at a party in Sydney in 2001. “She was hilarious,” he said. “We were at a very pretentious party, and I and her bonded over taking the mick out of the other people in the party.”
Best known for her roles in Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic, Fisher most recently appeared in the Australian Peacock series Wolf Like Me. She has also boarded Kevin James’ upcoming action comedy Playdate and Noah Baumbach’s new, untitled Netflix project. Baron Cohen, best known for his Borat films, last appeared in Pixar’s animated Luca.
