According to reports, Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Principal Sardari Muhammad Al-Fareed Zafar said that Rizwana’s condition deteriorated on Sunday when her oxygen level dropped.

He said that additions had been made to the medical board overseeing her treatment, including a cardiologist from Jinnah Hospital.

He said that the board would assess her condition again which revealed that Rizwana is suffering from sepsis and both her lungs are affected.

The medical officer said that one of her lungs is affected while the other has drops of blood in it. He added that more samples had been sent to the laboratory for analysis.

Rizwana was brought to Lahore General Hospital where a special medical board was constituted to oversee her treatment.

She was admitted to the radiology ICU. The board has decided to get another CT scan done to get more insight into her condition. A medical report based on her test results has been released.

The initial medical report had said that Rizwana had 15 wounds on her body including a wound on the head. It also added that her internal organs had also sustained damage.

The 12-member board had been constituted under Dr Jodat Saleem and she was initially kept in the surgical ICU.

However, the minor girl’s parents have termed the treatment as satisfactory and demanded that the accused be brought to justice.
