Reasons behind Pakistan’s destruction and inflation

Nadeem Moulvi by Nadeem Moulvi
February 26, 2024

Politicians and the public engage only in political discussions, and the public, influenced by various politicians’ ideologies, supports them.

Inflation has encircled this nation and its people amidst worries. The troubling reality is that no one is doing anything about inflation or how it can be stopped, and everyone’s focus is on increasing salaries.

The question to ponder is why once something becomes expensive, it doesn’t become cheaper again. Is it because of the government? Or is it the business individuals who are causing harm to Pakistan and its people for their own interests?

I can give an example of electricity bills because the majority of Pakistanis’ income goes into paying electricity bills. These are the bills that Pakistani people used to pay at the rate of 7 rupees per unit in 2017.

It was said that the electricity producers couldn’t make electricity cheaper because the prices of electricity bills depend on the international prices of oil. If we look at the international prices of oil, they have decreased by up to 60% in the past 2 years, but in the past two years, the price of electricity has increased by 80%.

Are the reason for this increase those people who overlook price controls within organizations, or is it the public’s ignorance, or the politicians’ ignorance? If you obtain information about the education of the heads of organizations, you’ll find out that those who hold important positions have only a Bachelor of Arts degree.

I don’t understand why this is happening. Another example is why everything made from oil and petroleum is becoming expensive? The rent for airplanes was said to be too high two years ago. The reason given was the increase in oil prices in the global market.

But today, this example doesn’t seem right again because in the last two years, there has been a decrease in oil prices in the global market, but the prices of airline tickets have increased by up to 90%. Are the public, organizations, and politicians ignorant during this inflation? And what is the reason for silence on this injustice?

Another type of inflation is seen in the things people consume. In the past, it was said that it’s an expensive process to get goods from the markets to the consumers due to the high price of petrol. Because of this reason, inflation is high. However, it is seen that in January 2023, the price of petrol was 332 rupees per liter, which, if we talk about the beginning of 2024 or the last 6 months, the prices of petrol have decreased.

During this time, the price of petrol ranged from 260 rupees per liter to 275 rupees per liter. But in the last 6 months, the price of anything people consume has not been affected by the decrease in petrol prices. Are the people, politicians, and organizations also ignorant of this fact?

Many other injustices are also being done to Pakistan and Pakistanis. But for Pakistanis, political videos are made on social media and YouTube, and sometimes we are fighting each other politically or saying bad things about organizations. But nobody understands that our problem is not understood by politicians, but they are diverting our attention by fighting with organizations, and because of that, inflation and troubles are increasing in our country.

In this way, politicians have made us fools that even today they are fighting among themselves to gain power, and they have never done anything serious for our purposes, while the public has always been told only and only the causes of inflation but inflation has not been reduced.

Today, we should ask all politicians why a doctor-politician who obtains a doctorate degree doesn’t become a health minister but sometimes becomes the minister of science and technology or IT? Because we have seen that no matter how many politicians there are, whichever field they have studied, they never get ministries related to their education, and whatever ministry they get, they happily obtain benefits for themselves.

So far, it has been seen in Pakistan that the people inside the parliament, according to their education, never appear to be working. Bachelor of Arts politicians are in politics, and the students of political science are seen working in the arts field to find employment.

As long as this kind of system continues, and the distribution of ministries by the government continues to please politicians and their workers, then this country cannot progress, and neither can such ministers work for our people or our country.
