Notorious dacoit Vicky alias Vishal Masih was shot dead by his colleagues during an encounter with police near the Kahna area of Lahore, media reported on Tuesday.
According to details, a team of Organized Crime Unit of Model Town was taking Vicky to arrest his other colleagues when suddenly four armed men who were riding motorcycles opened fire on the police team.
Dacoit Vicky was seriously injured during the exchange of heavy firing between the police team and motorcyclists. He was being shifted to hospital but died on the way.
According to police records, the dacoit was involved in more than 50 criminal activities.
Earlier, a few weeks ago, Vicky alias Vishal Masih committed a dacoity in Nishtar Colony and looted Rs20 million.
Moreover, In a big heist reported from Lahore, two armed dacoits robbed the people staying in Rest Inn in Model Town in the limits of Faisal Town police station of millions of rupees as well as cellphones.
The police said that in all, dacoits looted over Rs7.7 million as well as 15 mobile sets from people besides a laptop from Apple company and four watches worth millions of rupees.
Giving further details, the Force said that out of a total of 15 cellphones snatched from the guests, five were of Apple, three of Samsung, and two of Nokia, Vivo, Oppo, Redmi, and Soni each.
The police said they had registered a case against unidentified persons and formed teams to arrest them.
SHO Faisal Town Asad Shahzad said that the evidence had been collected from the crime scene, while footage had been obtained from the CCTV cameras installed in adjacent shops and homes.
