The Punjab government has allocated additional funds to enhance its solar panel scheme and accelerate agricultural development in the province.
As part of these efforts, the Chief Minister has directed increased resource allocation to expedite the distribution of tractors and other agricultural equipment, aiming to support farmers and improve agricultural productivity.
The Chief Minister also announced plans to expand the solar energy program, with a focus on providing free solar power to citizens across Punjab. In a significant step toward sustainability, government buildings will transition to solar energy, with renewable energy projects set to be completed by June. To further promote solar energy adoption, an additional Rs6 billion has been allocated.
Moreover, the province plans to finalize a fund for generating electricity from waste by March. A comprehensive review of the solar energy transition program for government institutions, including the Punjab Assembly and the Institute of Cardiology, will also be conducted.
The Chief Minister has set a March deadline for completing the “Garments Cities” project and instructed the development of a feasibility study for a 300-acre Industrial and Technology Park in Narowal, along with plans for establishing a technology university in Kasur.
