The Punjab government has declared a public holiday on Saturday, September 6, 2025, to mark the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, the day commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
This holiday, also known as Mawlid al-Nabawi, will see the closure of all government and private offices, including the Civil Secretariat and administrative departments.
Outpatient departments (OPDs) will also remain closed for the day.
The 12th Rabiul Awwal holds great significance for Muslims around the world, as it celebrates the birth of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
It is observed as a time of devotion, with communities engaging in prayers, gatherings, and spiritual activities to honor the life and teachings of the Prophet.
This holiday will provide an opportunity for people to reflect on the Prophet’s (PBUH) legacy, as well as participate in community activities that celebrate his contributions to humanity.
