Whether it is the people or politics, everyone likes flattering people and because of this flattering culture, Pakistan is facing difficulties in development. On the other hand, whoever criticizes the other, but no one likes to look into his own collar. Interestingly, people, who advise others to live frugally and simply, are the most extravagant.
Some time ago, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that in view of the situation in the country, all ministers, chief ministers and governors should not use official protocol in any private function as it causes huge economic losses. It was a great step and for the first time, it seemed that maybe Pakistan is really changing but the reality turned out to be the opposite.
Where Prime Minister Imran Khan’s participation isn’t meaningful, he is specially brought. Just like it happened in the inauguration ceremony of Green Line bus project. The project could have been inaugurated by the heirs of slain PTI leader Naeem-ul-Haq, which would have sent a beautiful message. But Imran Khan himself arrived in Karachi to inaugurate it so that political points can be scored.
Imran Khan’s expenses, from air travel to the inauguration of the Green Project in Karachi, would have been used for the betterment of the poor. In our country, it has often been observed that the government only makes tall claims for the poor and especially the PTI builds bridges of praise for each other on social media.
It seems very difficult for Pakistan’s economy to improve under this government because the incumbent one only listens to overseas Pakistanis or to its own flattering people. Meanwhile, the citizens are continuously urging the government to reduce electricity prices, reduce petrol prices, make medicines and laboratory tests cheaper, bring food prices within the reach of the people, but no one likes to listen to the poor.
It is difficult to understand how will Riyasat-e-Madinah stabilize the economy on the basis of interest? The people are hungry, thirsty and anxious and are begging to be given a chance to earn, but this government seems to be closing down all opportunities for trade. It is the responsibility of the government to provide resources to run any business but the PTI takes funds from IMF so that the expenses of their government continue.
When Iran changed, the whole world imposed sanctions on it. Iran had no foreign assets. Its oil assets were also banned, but it was their determination that the country wanted Islamic change and they wanted to run the country according to Islam. Due to this, in spite of all the restrictions and difficulties, they provided a good and economic life to the citizens. If the PTI government is really sincere with the people, then lessons can be learned from Iran.
