The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday rebounded from Tuesday’s losses, with the KSE-100 Index gaining nearly 1,500 points.

Early in the morning, the market witnessed selling pressure, dropping 883.07 points. However, buying interest took over later in the session as the index closed at 163,188.53, a gain of 1,496.04 points or 0.93%.

Buying was observed across major sectors such as cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, and OMCs. Index-heavy stocks including HUBCO, MARI, OGDC, POL, PPL, PSO, SNGPL, SSGC, MCB, NBP, and UBL also turned green.

On Tuesday, PSX ended lower as profit-taking in key index-heavy sectors pushed the market into negative territory, despite a rise in overall trading activity.

The KSE-100 Index fell by 291.59 points (0.18%), closing at 161,692.49.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee strengthened slightly against the US dollar during early trading on Wednesday. By 10 a.m., the local currency was trading at 280.37, up Rs 0.20 from its previous close of 280.57` in the interbank market.
