Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) maintained the bullish trend on Thursday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 463.85 points, with a positive change of 0.3%, closing at 152,665.72 points against 152,201.87 points in the previous session.
The stock market stayed in the green during the entire session and at one point also reached an all-time high of 153,411.05 points, but later shed some points due to selling pressure.
A total of 406,772,755 shares were traded during the day as compared to 1,043,232,122 shares on the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 30.932 billion against Rs 51.308 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 480 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 208 of them recorded gains and 240 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 32 companies remained unchanged.
Buying was observed in key sectors including cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, power generation, and refinery. Index-heavy stocks, including ARL, MARI, POL, PPL, PSO, SGNPL, HBL, MCB, MEBL, and NBP, traded in the green.
