LAHORE: Textbooks have become expensive in Lahore after a sharp increase in the price of paper.
After the price of copies, books increased by 50% in the city, both parents and students are demanding the government to reduce the prices.
Due to the increase in the cost of paper, the price of textbooks has increased, and the syllabus of a private school nursery has reached upto to Rs5 thousand.

The stock of syllabus that was Rs 10,000 in the shops last year has now doubled, and shopkeepers say that the price of books has gone up due to expensive paper. The textbooks which were available for Rs 250 last year are now available for Rs 500.
The copy is being sold at Rs 50 to Rs 70 and the register at Rs 60 to Rs 90. English summary of BA has increased from Rs.1000 to Rs.1800.
