ISLAMABAD: The presidential election will be held today between PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Mahmood Khan Achakzai, in which Asif Zardari is likely to win.
According to the details, voting will be held in the National Assembly, Senate, and four provincial assemblies for the election of the President. Apart from the Muslim League (N), MQM (Pakistan), ANP, and the National Party have also announced their support for Asif Ali Zardari.
On the other hand, Mehmood Achakzai has been nominated as the presidential candidate by the Sunni Ittehad Council, which claims the most seats in the National Assembly, while the Grand Democratic Alliance will boycott the election of the president.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that if Bilawal Bhutto had not come for the meeting, we would have voted for Asif Zardari. It will be welcome to have a political figure in the President’s House. Thankfully, the nation is getting rid of the unconstitutional.
Maryam Nawaz expressed her displeasure over former president Dr. Arif Alvi’s non-acceptance of the Muslim League (N) and PPP, saying that the nation will always remember the person who violated the constitution by sitting on the constitutional post.
