Lewandowski on Saturday said goodbye to his Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann and his team-mates ahead of leaving for a medical with Barcelona in Miami as the Bayern star forward is set to join FC Barcelona in a reported 50 million euros deal.
Robert Lewandowski has said he had eight ‘special’ years at Bayern Munich as he prepares to sign for Barcelona.
‘I will come back and say a proper goodbye to all the employees. I didn’t have much time to prepare for it,’ he told Sky Sport News in Germany.
The 33-year-old striker was pictured embracing Nagelsmann before leaving Bayern’s training ground, and will likely fly out shortly to the US to complete his move, which has been agreed at £42.5million plus another £5m in add-ons.
He is expected to sign a three-year deal at the Nou Camp with the option of a fourth, and the Spanish giants are hopeful of wrapping up the transfer by Sunday.
Earlier, Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn told BILD: ‘We have reached an agreement with Barcelona for Robert Lewandowski. It’s done – however on verbal agreement, the contract is still pending’.
Xavi’s side have been chasing the Polish star all summer long but look to have clinched his signature with the player set to fly out to Spain on Saturday after both clubs agreed a fee.
