Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has also hailed the reduction in sugar prices. He said the price of sugar has dropped by Rs31 per kilogram since last month.

He said when attempts are made to reform the corrupt system, there is resistance by those who benefit from it which intensifies when the benefactor is influential. He said the government is successful if it has good intentions.

Sugar prices have reduced in various parts of the country as the efforts of the federal government are bearing fruit. In Karachi, the price of sugar has reduced by Rs15 per kg in the past two weeks.
