ISLAMABAD: A bird has hit the engine of a national airline (PIA) in the federal capital, which damaged the engine, and the aircraft had to make an emergency landing.
According to the details, the bird hit the right engine of PIA flight number PK 632 coming from Sukkur to Islamabad. The plane’s engine has been damaged due to a bird strike during the flight.
Due to damage to the engine of the aircraft, the captain requested permission for an emergency landing from the air traffic controller and successfully landed the aircraft. The plane was carrying 49 passengers and crew members.
It should be noted that earlier, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight carrying 350 passengers made an emergency landing at the Karachi Airport, the windshield of the cockpit of the plane was damaged after being hit by a bird.
According to sources, flight number PK 9759 was going from Lahore to Jeddah when the bird hit the windshield, and the windshield was affected.
After the April accident, an emergency call was made by the pilot and the aircraft was diverted to Karachi where it was safely landed at the Jinnah International Airport.
