PIC attack: Lawyers strike across province enters 5th day

LAHORE: The lawyers have announced strike across the province over the arrest of their colleagues in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) attack.
The group of lawyers, who were arrested earlier on Wednesday in the PIC incident with the help of the CCTV footage has not been released yet.
Police arrested more than 30 protesting lawyers, who were involved in attacking and vandalizing government properties in the PIC.
A source from the hospital informed that the Grand Health Alliance announced to observe three-day mourning in this regard. The doctors would perform their duties in the emergency wards wearing black bands.

The medical services remain suspended in PIC’s emergency and outdoor wards, after the attack by the lawyers.
It all started a couple of days ago when the doctors and hospital staff at the PIC beat up a lawyer who had brought his mother to the hospital for treatment. As a result of doctors’ negligence, the health of the lawyer’s mother worsened.
