A total of 153 civilians were killed and 247 others injured during US airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen, according to a report submitted by the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) to Congress.
According to US media outlet The Hill, the Pentagon’s 12-page report says that the casualties occurred during three specific military operations carried out in April 2025.
The report said the first incident took place on April 6 in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, where a US airstrike killed five civilians.
The second, and deadliest, incident occurred on April 17 in an airstrike on the port of Ras Isa, which killed 80 civilians.
According to the Pentagon, the third airstrike, carried out near Saada on April 28, killed 47 people.
The report also stated that 15 additional incidents involving US military operations are under investigation and review.
The Pentagon’s report comes as human rights organizations continue to call for greater protection of civilians in conflict zones and for precautionary measures to be taken during military operations.
Investigators said the incidents under review are being examined in detail, and further facts will be made public once the investigations are completed.
