ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has convened a meeting of the opposition alliance on Monday to devise a post-Senate elections strategy.
The meeting will be held at Sindh House in Islamabad at 2PM on 8th March during with the opposition’s alliance would devise an anti-government strategy. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will preside over the meeting.
The meeting will discuss matters pertaining to the long march, elections for the offices of Senate chairman and deputy chairman, the vote of confidence, political situation of the country.
The PDM is set to hold a long march to Islamabad on March 26. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has finalised arrangements while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will hold a meeting today to devise the final strategy. The PPP caravan for the march would leave from Karachi on March 26 will be joined by groups from other districts of the Sindh on way towards Islamabad.
PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal has announced that the PDM would begin its long march against the incumbent government from Karachi on March 26 and caravans from all over the country will reach the federal capital by March 30.
