ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics has released the production data of major industries, according to which there has been an alarming decline in the production of industries.
According to the Institute of Statistics, a large decrease of 24.99 percent was recorded in the production of large industries on an annual basis. In March, the production of large industries decreased by 9.09% on a monthly basis. From July to March, a decrease of 8.11% was recorded in the production of large industries.

From July to March, food sector production fell by 8.71% and beverages by 3.39%, tobacco by 23.78%, and the textile sector by 16.03%. The production of wood products decreased by 66.22%, the production of paper and board industries decreased by 5.42%, the production of chemicals decreased by 6.29% and the production of fertilizers decreased by 9.54%.
The statistics showed that the production of the pharmaceuticals sector decreased by 23.20%, while the production of iron and steel products recorded a decrease of 4.02%. According to the data, the production of the automobile sector decreased by 42.48%, while the production of the furniture sector increased by 48.26% from July to March.
