Pakistan’s star Babar Azam turns 26 years old

LAHORE: Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam has turned 26 years old today.

The 26-years old cricketer was born in Lahore on 15th October 1994.  

Babar Azam started his career with a match against Zimbabwe on 31st May 2015 and a Test match on 13th October 2016 against the West Indies. The middle-order batsman played his first T20 match on 7th September 2016 against England.

Babar Azam is the joint-fastest 1,000-run batsman in ODIs, the second-fastest 2,000-run batsman in ODIs jointly and the second-fastest 3,000-run batsman in ODIs. He also holds the record for most runs scored by any batsman in the world after the first 25 ODI innings.

He has also scored three consecutive half-centuries in the tournament. The innings took Babar’s total runs tally of T20 runs in this year to 942, the most by any cricketer in 2020.

He is followed by Hales who has scored 895 runs in the year. This is the second consecutive year when Babar Azam has scored the highest runs in the T20 format.
