HONG KONG: Qamar-ul-Zaman, a Pakistani national living in Hong Kong, has been honoured with the highest civilian award.
Qamar-ul-Zaman Minhas from Rawalpindi’s Kallar Syedan was awarded the Medal of Honour. Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee presented the award to Qamar-ul-Zaman Minhas at a special awards ceremony held on the occasion of China’s National Day.
Qamar-ul-Zaman Minhas was given this award in recognition of his social services to the Hong Kong Pakistani community over the past thirty years.
He has been four times President of Pakistan Community Hong Kong and President of Islamic Trustees of Hong Kong. He also has the honor of being a member of the Government Equality Commission for Minorities. He is the second Pakistani who also has the honor of being a member of the Hong Kong Election Commission.
