There is good news for the residents of Karachi, as a significant increase in sea clouds is expected in the city on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Light rain and cool morning showers are also forecast, making the weather pleasant and refreshing.
This change will offer a much-needed relief to citizens fatigued by the recent intense summer heat. According to the Meteorological Department, these clouds will be entering from the Arabian Sea and are expected to persist for the next few days.
The latest monsoon update from meteorologists indicates that the temperature of the Arabian Sea has remained unusually cool since last year, a trend previously analyzed in detail in January and February. This cooling pattern is expected to continue at least until August.
In July, temperatures in Pakistan’s coastal areas may remain normal or slightly above normal, whereas slightly below-normal temperatures are predicted along the Gujarat coast. These temperature variations are key factors influencing the formation and behavior of “low-pressure” systems during the monsoon season.
If a low-pressure system forms over the Arabian Sea and moves toward Gujarat, it may weaken due to the cooler sea surface temperatures. However, if a “heat low” develops over Rajasthan and shifts toward Pakistan, it could easily impact areas such as Karachi, Thatta, Badin, and Hyderabad.
Experts suggest that temperatures in coastal Pakistan may improve somewhat in the coming days, with at least one significant monsoon rainfall expected across much of the country’s monsoon belt before July. These rains will help moderate the weather in South Punjab, North Sindh, eastern Balochistan, and the upper regions.
