ISLAMABAD: Pakistan today (Friday) recorded at least 4.368 confirmed COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day tally reported in nine months as the third wave of the pandemic continued to rage across the country.
Data from the government’s portal to track the spread of the disease in the country shows that 4.368 infections were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the national total to 645,356. Meanwhile, with 63 new deaths, the toll has risen to 14,091.
The total count of active cases is 40,120 and the positivity rate stands at 10.29 percent. A total of 42,418 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Since the detection of the first COVID-19 case, overall 9,976,791 tests have been conducted so far.
Almost 2,758 patients are in critical condition across the country, whereas, 2,170 people recovered from the deadly disease during the last 24 hours. Overall 591,145 have regained their health from the COVID-19.
