ISLAMABAD: Despite the best efforts of the government, the coronavirus has not been brought under control.
According to the data released by the National Command and Operations Center, 42 new deaths and 5830 cases of coronavirus were recorded in Pakistan.
The total number of deaths after 42 new deaths has risen to 29,372 while the number of victims has risen to 144,263 after the addition of 5,830 new cases.
During the last 24 hours, 59,786 tests were conducted across Pakistan while the proportion of positive cases was recorded up to 9.75 percent.
Around 7839 patients recovered from the virus due to which the total number of recoveries was 1312819. The total number of active cases in the country was recorded as 100072 while the number of patients in special care is 1590.
So far 546141 people in Sindh, 483779 in Punjab, 197937 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 129758 in Islamabad, 34557 in Balochistan, 39323 in Azad Kashmir, and 10768 in Gilgit-Baltistan have been infected with the coronavirus.
So far 13,201 people have lost their lives in Punjab, 7,849 in Sindh, 6,023 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 982 in Islamabad, 760 in Azad Kashmir, 368 in Balochistan, and 189 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
