The people of Pakistan are expected to celebrate Eidul Fitr on March 31 (Monday), with the Shawwal moon set to be visible on March 29 at 03:58 pm.
Meetings of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held on March 29 and March 30 to confirm the moon sighting. At the time of the committee’s meeting, the age of the moon will be 27 hours.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has confirmed that the moon will remain visible for about one hour.
The moon will be officially sighted on March 30, marking the 1st of Shawwal and Eidul Fitr celebrations to take place on March 31.
Meanwhile, the temperature in Karachi on the occasion of Eid is expected to soar to 37°C due to high moisture in the air.
This will result in a scorching heat during the festivities in Sindh’s provincial capital.
