ISLAMABAD: Efforts are underway to align the Pakistani passport with the highest international security standards, with a representative of an international company specialising in passport security and advanced technology visiting the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports.
During the visit, the representative met with Director General Immigration and Passports Hamad Ali Randhawa, where advanced passport security products and technological solutions were presented.
The meeting focused on the potential introduction of modern security features in Pakistani passports and the use of advanced technologies to further protect passports against counterfeiting, tampering and other forms of fraud.
Officials also discussed measures to enhance the global acceptance of Pakistani passports and improve their ability to be verified quickly and securely.
The international company’s representative gave a detailed briefing on the latest passport security technologies. The meeting also reviewed security models adopted by countries with some of the world’s most secure passports, along with international best practices in the field.
Senior officials of the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, technical teams and forensic experts attended the meeting. Participants held detailed discussions on the technical utility, effectiveness and practical implementation of the proposed advanced security solutions.
