Pakistan cancels May spot LNG tenders

Pakistan has cancelled its spot LNG tenders for May. Pakistan LNG Limited had issued tenders for two LNG cargoes for May.

According to Pakistan LNG Limited, the tenders were cancelled after LNG vessels from Qatar were confirmed to be arriving. Bids had been invited for deliveries between 12–16 May and 24–28 May.

It is worth noting that a third LNG vessel bound for Pakistan from Qatar has entered the Strait of Hormuz following special permission from Iran.

According to sources at Port Qasim, the LNG shipment is being transported to the Engro Terminal, while another LNG vessel, Al Kharaitiyat, has also arrived in Karachi.

Sources added that the first LNG vessel anchored at Port Qasim on 30 April. This marks the third LNG ship permitted by Iran to pass through within a span of 15 days for delivery to Pakistan.
