Pakistan A team captain Mohammad Haris said they want to beat Indian team in the final of the ongoing ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
Haris-led Pakistan A beat Sri Lanka A by 60 runs to qualify for the final of the Asian event. Pakistan A won the last Asia Cup that was played back in 2019.
Currently, India A is playing against Bangladesh A in the second semi-final. The winner will meet Pakistan A in the final on July 23.
Speaking at the post-semi-final ceremony, Haris said his team is looking forward to beating India A if they qualify for the final.
“Every team is here to win the event. But our boys want to beat India in the final,” said Haris.
“We are defending champions but that is part. We are focused on the present and prepared for the final match,” he added.
Pakistan lost to India by eight wickets in their group match. Sai Sudharsan scored a magnificent century to propel India A to an eight-wicket victory over Pakistan A.
