One Year of ‘Battle of Haq’: DG ISPR rejects Indian claims on Pahalgam

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army’s Director General Inter‑Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Thursday congratulated the nation on the completion of one year of the “Battle of Haq,” declaring that India has failed to produce any evidence regarding the Pahalgam incident even after twelve months.

Addressing a press conference alongside senior officers of the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy, Lt Gen Chaudhry said the armed forces, guided by the vision of the military leadership, had defeated “an enemy five times bigger” in a multi‑domain war and had consistently lived up to the expectations of the people. “Not only Pakistan but every child in India knows what happened in the Battle of Haq. We destroyed India’s pride a year ago,” he remarked.

He maintained that Pakistan had been accused of the Pahalgam incident without investigation, while India had long propagated a false narrative of Pakistan’s involvement in terrorism.

“India carried out false flag operations to sustain this narrative. Their politicians seem less like statesmen and more like fighters,” he said, adding that Pakistan was making the most earnest efforts for peace in the region.

Lt Gen Chaudhry asserted that India had “very cunningly” created a narrative portraying Pakistan as a sponsor of terrorism, but insisted that “these people themselves are involved in terrorism and the world is not ready to listen to India’s fabricated stories.”

Turning to Kashmir, the DG ISPR stressed that the territory was not part of India but “an internationally recognized dispute.” He warned New Delhi to “learn to speak the truth,” noting that Kashmir was not an internal matter of India but a settled issue at the global level with United Nations resolutions affirming its disputed status.

“India itself is the biggest terrorist. If you want to use this language, then come forward again,” he said, accusing Indian leaders of worsening their internal problems instead of resolving them. “India should stop lying and tell the truth,” he concluded.
