ISLAMABAD: Omar Ayub blasts Shehbaz’s ‘fake mandate’, demands release of Imran, women prisoners
PTI’s Omar Ayub Khan has blasted Shehbaz Sharif’s government, saying it was formed on a “fake mandate”. He said that the government was based on Form 47 not Form 45.
He also said that the PTI had won 180 seats which would have crossed 200 with the addition of reserved seats, which are still being denied to the party.
Khan said that the parties in the coalition government looked as if they were attending a ‘funeral’ and there was no jubilation at forming a government because they knew it was based on a ‘fake mandate’.
PTI MNA Omar Ayub said, “Firstly, my leader Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, our women who are behind bars, our men [such as] Chaudhry Ejaz who is a Senator … our workers; the cases against them be quashed, they be released and reunited with their families.
“And our stolen mandate of Forms 45 be returned to us. After that, we will think about it. Our stance is crystal clear.”
Prior to engaging in negotiations with its political adversaries, the PTI has insisted on the release of its founder and former prime minister, Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, other party leaders, and female employees.
When questioned about any requirements for having a conversation with its political adversaries, PTI MNA Gohar Khan told the media in Islamabad that the party would take it under consideration if an official offer was made and would consult Imran on the matter.
