PLM-N led coalition government of Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM) doesn’t seem to have any credibility abroad as Canadian Red Cross clarified that they are helping the flood-victims directly, and not providing funding to Pakistan’s government.
Even though, PM Shehbaz Sharif assured the international community that government of Pakistan would audit the flood funding by a private audit firm of global standing, but it didn’t allay the foreign donors’ apprehensions.
Canadian Red Cross on its official twitter clarified to donors that all the donations will be used to help people impacted by the flooding in Pakistan through Red Cross/Red Crescent humanitarian relief efforts. Funds are not provided to the Government of Pakistan.
We’re grateful for the generosity of Canadians donating to the Pakistan Floods Appeal. Donations will be used to help people impacted by the flooding in Pakistan through Red Cross/Red Crescent humanitarian relief efforts. Funds are not provided to the Government of Pakistan.

Last month, the Canadian Red Cross has launched the Pakistan Floods Appeal to accept donations to help people affected by record-breaking monsoon rainfall in Pakistan.
There is a humanitarian crisis in Pakistan. 33 million people have been impacted by the catastrophic flooding. Each number is a person. Someone’s mother, father, or child. The Red Cross is standing with those who need it most, but we can’t do it alone.

“The rainfall, almost three times higher than the past 30-year average, is putting the lives of millions of people at risk from floods, flash floods, and landslides,” Canadian Red Cross said in its appeal “The Red Cross and the Red Crescent are working to coordinate emergency relief efforts and get help to people as quickly as possible.”
