ATTOCK: A nine-year-old girl was raped and strangulated to death in the limits of Hazro police station in Attock, while the accused killed during an encounter on Wednesday.
The girl’s father while talking to the media said that his daughter along with her aunt had gone to neighbourhood to attend a function.
Her aunt came back alone late at night and told the girl had departed a little earlier. The girl’s father said that on this, all were worried as she had not come back home.
He further told that he along with his two brothers went out in search of his daughter.
The victim’s father said, “In the nearby fields, we saw our neighbor, who on seeing us run away from there. At a little distance, I saw my daughter strangulated to death,” he added.
Police on the behave of the girl’s father registered a case and different teams have been formulated to arrest the culprit.
Raids were carried out at various places to arrest the accused and at the same time, the police received information about the presence of the accused on the banks of the Indus River.
On Wednesday, police raided a house to nab the accused however, the accused opened fire on the police party along with his accomplices. In the exchange of fire, the man accused was shot dead by his accomplice who escaped.
