KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast monsoon rain is expected to hit Sindh’s capital and other cities across the country from today.
The PMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall for Karachi during the next 24 to 48 hours. Northern and eastern parts of the city might see isolated heavy rain spell.
Moreover, widespread rain and thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls are expected in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, and Kashmir.
The disperse spells of rain are also expected in places in Malakand, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Previously, at least 27 people were killed in rain-related incidents in Sindh during the latest spell of monsoon rains, which hit Karachi and some other parts of the province on 10th August which continued for three days.
