NAWABSHAH: A distressed mother arrived at a press club with her four children, saying she had been left with no option but to sell them amid alleged harassment and mounting pressure from moneylenders.

Shamshad Bibi, a resident of Nawabshah, alleged that an influential moneylender was demanding Rs2 million in interest payments, subjecting her family to severe financial and emotional distress.

According to details, Shamshad Bibi arrived at the Qazi Ahmed Press Club with her four children, where she told journalists that an influential individual was demanding Rs2 million from her as interest.

She further alleged that after she failed to pay the demanded amount, the individual had the police take her husband, Allah Rakhio Khokhar, into custody, and that he had since gone missing.

The distressed woman said she had been subjected to continuous pressure and threats, leaving her so desperate that she brought her four children to the press club, saying she would sell them to pay the alleged Rs2 million interest demand.

Shamshad Bibi appealed to the Sindh Home Minister, the Inspector General of Police Sindh and the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Shaheed Benazirabad to take immediate notice of the matter, ensure her husband’s recovery and take action against those allegedly harassing her family.
