ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court has sent former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Asif Ali Zardari to jail on judicial remand in the fake accounts case on Friday.
Strict security had been arranged when Asif Zardari was presented before the accountability court today.
The accountability court has directed the NAB authorities to produce the former president on 19th August.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor told the court that development has been made in the case as another suspect had recorded the statement which led the extension in the physical remand of Zardari which was rejected.
The court had directed the NAB officials to complete the investigations during the eight-day physical remand which was granted in the previous hearing.
It is to be noted that a 62-day physical remand of Asif Zardari had already been completed in the fake accounts and money laundering reference.
