The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched an online service for issuing the Child Registration Certificate (CRC), commonly known as the B-Form, making the process more accessible for parents, especially those with newborns.
The initiative aims to ensure that every child’s fundamental right to identity is fulfilled by simplifying access to official registration.
The B-Form is an essential document used to register a child in NADRA’s records. To apply, parents must present documented proof of birth issued by the Union Council, regardless of whether the birth occurred in Pakistan or abroad. Additionally, at least one parent must possess either a National Identity Card (NIC) or a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
For children up to one year old, the process has been further streamlined through the Pak ID Mobile App, available on both Android and iOS platforms. Parents can now apply from the comfort of their homes by following a step-by-step process within the app.
After logging into their Pak ID account, users can select the “Child Registration Certificate (CRC)” option under identity document services. The application process involves verifying prefilled information, uploading the child’s photo, providing a digital signature, entering the child’s details, and submitting necessary documents. The application concludes with the fingerprint verification of one parent before final submission.
This development is part of NADRA’s ongoing efforts to digitize citizen services and reduce the need for in-person visits, making it easier for families to register their children promptly and efficiently.
