The decision of his arrest was made after a joint investigation team of NAB maintained that Sharif was not cooperating with the investigating team in the probe related to the Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
Members of the Sharif family are accused of being involved in money laundering under the garb of sale/purchase of the sugar mill’s shares.
The NAB has mainly accused Nawaz’s daughter Maryam, who was arrested in the case on 8th August along with her cousin Yousuf Abbas.
It may be noted that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz are already being investigated in the reference by the NAB since last month.
