LAHORE: Pakistani singer Meesha Shafi today (Monday) has slammed a report, making rounds on social media, about her wish to date Pakistan cricket team Babar Azam.
According to the Instagram post, the caption of the picture insinuated Meesha’s affection for the Karachi Kings star batsman. “I always stick to the television when he is batting, and when he gets out, I switch my television off,” the post read, adding, “I would love to date him, I just love him.”
Rubbishing the claims, the Aaya Lariye singer wrote, “I have no idea who this is or why it exists. It makes zero sense. 100% concocted out of thin air. This quote is fabricated”
The singer then tagged Instagram and asked them to take the post down. She refrained from commenting on the matter further. Meesha Shafi’s sexual harassment allegations against Ali Zafar stirred up a storm in the entertainment industry and beyond.
Earlier in October, the female singer along with eight others gets booked over by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) over publicly defaming the Rockstar singer.
The decision has been taken by Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) cybercrime wing under section 20 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) that relates to ‘offenses against the dignity of a natural person’ and R/W 109 (Punishment of abetment) of the Pakistan Penal code (PPC).
Later, the FIA official, who registered an FIR against singer Meesha Shafi and others, suspended from the service. The FIA’s cybercrime wing claimed that they had suspended an official for acting as the unofficial spokesperson for the agency.
