Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) introduced two electric vehicle (EV) models in Karachi on Friday, marking a significant step towards an environmentally friendly future for Pakistan. This initiative is a joint venture between Master Group of Industries and Changan International.

The unveiling event showcased two models: the L07, an electric sports luxury sedan, and the S07, an electric premium SUV.

Although 41% of Pakistan’s energy mix is non-fossil fuel-based, the country’s oil import bill remains high at $15.16 billion. The new Deepal models aim to reduce this dependency, featuring a long-range battery, Italian design, and advanced technology. The L07, powered by CATL’s ternary lithium battery, offers a range of up to 540 kilometers, while the S07 provides 485 kilometers on a single charge.

To support mass EV adoption, MCML plans to expand its charging network from five to seventeen cities and introduce more EV models in the coming years. The company is also addressing after-sales service concerns by establishing a nationwide support network.
