KARACHI: Following an increase in petroleum product prices, the All Pakistan Goods Transport Association has announced a further 5 percent increase in freight charges.
Association President Malik Shehzad Awan termed the daily revision of petroleum prices unacceptable and called for the policy to be withdrawn. He warned that if the government failed to implement its agreements with transporters, transporters across the country would launch another nationwide strike.
He also demanded that if an increase in petroleum prices was unavoidable, relief should be provided on withholding tax, toll tax and other taxes.
