The Punjab government has expanded the ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ program to cover 32 districts across the province as of Monday. This decision was made under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, further strengthening the government’s initiative to enhance public service delivery.
According to a report by ARY News on Tuesday, the program has been extended to 10 new districts, including Rahim Yar Khan, Vehari, Lodhran, Toba Tek Singh, Layyah, Rajanpur, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Gujrat, and Khushab. These areas will benefit from the government’s efforts to provide convenient access to a range of public services.
Faisal Yousaf, Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), led a meeting in Lahore to review the progress of the initiative. He emphasized that the ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ program is designed to improve service delivery by deploying trained representatives, ensuring a more efficient and citizen-friendly experience. The initiative focuses on offering accessible and transparent public services through modern technology.
The program now provides citizens with access to over 65 government services, all of which can be delivered directly to their doorsteps. This approach eliminates the need to visit government offices, offering a significant convenience, particularly for women, the elderly, and working professionals. The expansion of these services aims to make government operations more inclusive and streamlined.
Previously, the services were limited to major districts such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Sargodha. However, with this extension, more residents in the province can benefit from a more efficient way to access government services. Citizens can also reach out for assistance via the helpline at 1202.
