In the Malakand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the area of Dheri Joolgram Kund, a domestic dispute turned bloody when a man opened fire and killed his wife, father-in-law, and three other people.
According to the police, the incident occurred when the accused, in extreme anger over a domestic quarrel, went to his father-in-law’s house and started indiscriminate firing, killing five people on the spot. The deceased include the accused’s wife, father-in-law, and other close relatives.
After the shooting, the accused fled from the scene while police reached the site and collected evidence. The bodies have been shifted to a nearby hospital for postmortem.
District police officials stated that investigations are underway, and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.
It is worth mentioning that incidents of firing over domestic disputes and petty arguments are on the rise not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also across all provinces of the country.
On the other hand, the government’s measures to prevent such incidents are deemed insufficient. Citizens believe that proper legislation is necessary to curb such crimes.
