A 28-year-old shopkeeper was shot dead during a robbery at an LPG cylinder shop near Liaquatabad No. 10 in Karachi.
According to police, two armed men entered the shop and snatched the victim Shehzad’s motorcycle keys, mobile phone and cash. When he refused to hand over the motorcycle keys, the suspects opened fire, hitting him in the head and killing him.
The suspects fled the scene on the victim’s motorcycle after leaving their own motorcycle behind. Police have taken the abandoned motorcycle and a pistol shell casing found at the scene into custody and have started an investigation.
Police said the statement of an eyewitness, who was also the victim’s colleague, has been recorded. The number of people killed while resisting robberies in Karachi this year has now reached 50.
