LARKANA: At least five people, including a father and his three sons, were killed in a tragic firing incident in Ratodero tehsil of Larkana, Sindh, when unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire.
According to local police sources, the incident took place on Jacobabad Road, where the armed assailants suddenly opened fire, causing panic in the area.
Four of the victims belonged to the same family and included the father and his three sons. A passerby was also killed after being caught in the firing.
The attackers managed to flee the scene shortly after the incident. Law enforcement agencies launched a search for the suspects and sealed the entry and exit points of the area as part of a search operation.
Chief Minister Takes Notice
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took strict notice of the five-person killing in Ratodero and sought a detailed report from Inspector General of Police Sindh.
He directed the authorities to ensure that those involved in the incident are brought to justice as soon as possible.
The chief minister expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the deceased.
He also expressed serious concern over the loss of human lives resulting from tribal disputes and longstanding rivalries. He directed the relevant authorities to take immediate and effective measures to ensure lasting peace and improve the law-and-order situation in the area.
