LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars won a nail-biting contest against Peshawar Zalmi on Tuesday after five wickets with one ball to spare.
Qalandars won the toss and decided to field first as captain Sohail Akhtar believed dew would play a part later on in the evening.
Peshawar Zalmi scored 187 runs in the allotted 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets. Haider Ali was the highest scorer with 69 runs from 43 balls including 4 sixes. Shoaib Malik scored 62 runs from 43 runs scoring 7 fours and 2 huge sixes.
Shah Shah Afridi secured three wickets at cost of 28 runs. Samit Patel picked up two wickets but gave 37 runs. Dilbar Hussain and David Wiese got one wicket each.
Lahore Qalandars finally won the match in a nail-biting contest. Fakhar Zaman scored 63 runs from 46 balls including 3 sixes and 4 boundaries. Chris Lynn scored 59 runs including 6 fours and 3 sixes.
Carlos Braithwaite picked three wickets at loss of 28 runs. However, a tight knock by Samit Patel and David Wiese who struck two sixes and secured the crucial win for the Qalandars.
