Lahore police have busted a major kite supply operation, arrested nine inter-district kite dealers and recovered more than 6,000 finished kites, along with raw materials and kite-making tools.
According to police, Mustafa Abad police, led by SHO Malik Asadullah, carried out the operation after receiving confidential information about a kite-manufacturing factory.
Police raided the factory and arrested nine inter-district kite dealers while they were making kites. The arrested suspects include Nauman, Zohaib, Ishtiaq, Asghar, Nadeem and others, according to the police spokesperson.
Police said more than 6,000 finished kites worth millions of rupees were recovered from the suspects.
Around 2,000 pieces of raw material used for making kites, along with kite-making tools, were also seized.
According to SP Cantt Investigations Raheela Iqbal, the suspects admitted to manufacturing kites at the factory and supplying them to different districts using online locations.
Police said intelligence-based operations were continuing to arrest other associates of the suspects.
A case has been registered against the arrested suspects, who have been handed over to the investigation wing for further investigation.
SP Cantt Investigations Raheela Iqbal also announced commendation certificates for Additional SHO Mustafa Abad Asadullah and the police team involved in the operation.
