Local police have filed a first information report (FIR) against a female doctor and seven other individuals, including nurses, for allegedly attacking a young man with a sharp-edged weapon, cutting his tongue, and gouging his eyes in Ghotki, Sindh.
According to police, the FIR names Dr. Sehar, Nurse Salamat Kulwar, Sweeper Mukhtiar Sheikh, and Nadir Ali, with three other unidentified individuals also implicated in the attack.
In his statement, the victim, Murtaza Ali Khoso, said that Dr. Sehar had expressed a desire to marry him, but his parents refused their consent. After leaving Ghotki for Karachi to escape the pressure, Khoso returned sometime later, where he was allegedly called to the doctor’s clinic and overpowered and fell unconscious after they administered him some injection. When he came into his senses he felt that his tongue and eyes were badly injured.
He said that three unknown persons were also present in the clinic on the day of the incident. Further investigation was underway.
