Karachi Police encounters: 10 robbers, including six injured, arrested in last 24 hours

Karachi police claimed to have arrested 10 suspected robbers, including six who sustained injuries during alleged encounters, in separate operations carried out across the city over the past 24 hours. Weapons, cash, mobile phones and stolen motorcycles were also recovered from the suspects, police said.

According to police and rescue officials, the first encounter took place in the Fakira Goth area within the limits of the Site Super Highway police station, where a suspect identified as Izzatullah was arrested in an injured condition.

He was shifted to hospital for treatment, while police recovered a weapon and a motorcycle from his possession.

In another alleged encounter near Bukhari Road, behind Sea View, within the jurisdiction of the Darakhshan police station, a suspect identified as Muhammad was arrested after being injured in an exchange of fire.

Police said they recovered a 30-bore pistol, ammunition, a mobile phone, cash and a motorcycle from him.

A third operation near Khameesa Goth in the New Karachi Industrial Area led to the arrest of another injured suspect, identified as Farman alias Femo. Police recovered a pistol, a mobile phone, cash and a motorcycle from his possession.

Meanwhile, in the Aram Bagh area, police arrested two suspects during an alleged encounter. One of them was injured and shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment, while the second suspect, identified as Abdul Majeed, was taken to the Aram Bagh police station for further investigation.

Police said two 30-bore pistols, several mobile phones, cash and a motorcycle were seized during the operation.

In Gulshan-e-Maymar, police arrested two suspected robbers near the MD Cut on the Northern Bypass following another alleged encounter.

One suspect, identified as Waqar, was injured, while his accomplice, Mudassir, was taken into custody. A third suspect managed to flee the scene. Police recovered two pistols, ammunition, cash and a motorcycle from the arrested men.

In a separate operation near the Mai Niyani shrine in Memon Goth, police arrested four suspected robbers, including two who were injured during an alleged exchange of fire.

The injured suspects were taken to hospital, while two others, identified as Kamran and Bilal, were also apprehended. Police said they recovered three pistols, a motorcycle and other valuables from the suspects.

Police said investigations into all the cases are underway, while efforts are being made to trace and arrest the absconding suspects.
