A man accused of brutally assaulting a food delivery rider following a minor traffic collision in Karachi’s upscale Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area has been arrested, police said.
According to sources, police took the suspect into custody after he allegedly attempted to flee to another city following the incident.
The incident occurred in the Badr Commercial area of DHA, where a minor collision took place between a car and a motorcycle. Police said the driver of the car became involved in a heated argument with the delivery rider after the accident.
According to the allegations, the suspect then attacked the rider and used a hockey stick taken from his vehicle to repeatedly strike the motorcycle, causing extensive damage.
After taking notice of the incident, police conducted a raid in DHA Badr Commercial and successfully arrested the suspect.
Police said the accused was allegedly preparing to leave the city to avoid arrest, but officers acted promptly to apprehend him. The vehicle allegedly used during the incident has also been taken into police custody as part of the investigation.
The case remains under investigation, and further legal proceedings are underway.
