KARACHI: LPG shipments continue to arrive at Port Qasim, with a third major vessel docking at the port this week as Pakistan maintains imports to support domestic and commercial gas supplies.
According to sources, the LPG carrier Yellow Stone arrived at Port Qasim from Bahrain carrying 4,000 metric tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The transfer of the cargo through pipelines has begun, the sources said.
Two other vessels carrying a combined total of more than 7,000 tonnes of LPG had already arrived at the port earlier this week.
Meanwhile, LPG imports from neighbouring Iran are also expected to increase. Following the required clearance at the Pakistan-Iran border, more than 2,000 metric tonnes of additional gas are expected to reach Karachi within the next 24 hours, transported by more than 100 bowser trucks.
Port Qasim Authority officials say the continued and timely arrival of LPG shipments is helping meet the energy needs of domestic and commercial consumers across the country.
The expected additional supplies from Iran, alongside the recent shipments from Bahrain, could further support LPG availability in the local market.
